DACH cooperation: Strengthening economic potential via Industrie 4.0

Plattform Industrie 4.0, Austria's Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the "Industrie 2025" initiative in Switzerland each actively shape the digitalisation of industry in their respective countries. The initiatives are working closely together to secure and expand the strong position of the DACH countries in the area of Industrie 4.0.

The focus is on cooperation in the area of testing facilities and the development of use cases, especially with regard to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In addition, the initiatives are adopting the RAMI 4.0 architecture model and developing the Asset Administration Shell. They also coordinate their work in international standardisation bodies. Cyber security is another topic for cooperation.

Background

Cooperation on Industrie 4.0 in the DACH region was agreed during the Hannover Messe 2018. It includes a regular exchange between the platforms with two meetings per year. A first, important step in the cooperation was the participation of the three platforms in the annual meeting of Austria’s platform in December 2018. The exchange will be continued on an ongoing basis.
